Update: While the purpose for starting my blog was originally the ride and intent mentioned below. It has now become my blog on biking in general.
I have always wanted to do something to make a difference, and in particular for Alzheimer’s. Only a few years ago, I really got into biking. Brian had grown up biking and talking to him made me very intrigued about all the biking he and his family had done. Since then I have become hooked. We have biked the Cape numerous times with the rest of his family, taken our bike to Lake Tahoe, Oregon, Hawaii and Calgary. We’ve biked in Germany and will soon have adventures in Switzerland and San Diego. Distance wise we’ve done a metric century in Salida, CO, biked around Lake Tahoe, and did our first century in the mountains of Colorado with our good friend Jerod.
This summer will be the first time we are using our biking to do something for a good cause. We will be riding 101.35 miles to raise money for a cure for Alzheimer’s. My dad will be riding the 20 mile ride and it looks like we might have a few other family and friends joining us. I am excited that this event will be making a memory in order to save memories. Here we will be sharing our adventures in biking for both fun and in effort to train for it. I hope you have just as much fun reading this as we do riding…. Maybe we will see you out there on a ride!
