It was fun going to Vegas with my family. It was a very different trip than past ones, but truly fun. We showed up Friday evening and had a great dinner at Searsucker before heading to Cesar’s Palace to see Jerry Seinfeld. He was only there for two days and we were very lucky it coincided. I would suggest seeing him to anyone if you have time. It is a great show about nothing really and he hits the mark for all generations.
Saturday was truly a treat. We got to see the Grand Canyon via a helicopter trip. This was our second helicopter ride. Amanda and Justin had been on 5 just since we all convinced them to do it after their wedding in Hawaii when we did. We got to see Hoover Dam and Lake Mead too. It really was awesome to fly up over the edge and down into the canyon. We cruised along in it for a bit and then landed for a little snack and drink stop. After the stop we flew back out of the canyon and back to the airport. I highly recommend it as a way to see the canyon and a great way to pass a day in Vegas. That evening we saw La Reve which is a production very similar to Cirque du Soleil, but out on by another group. It is one of the top shows and really was great. Before the show we enjoyed dinner at La Cave which was very good. Some of stayed out and enjoyed the casinos, Bellagio’s fountains and more of the Vegas nightlife.
Sunday was a leisurely day for all of us. Checking out some of the shops and grabbing bites to eat before heading to the airport to return. The weekend was a great way to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday. Happy birthday, Mom!
